CIRC Units

When you join the CIRC, you'll be assigned to a specialized unit that tackles a specific type of unresolved cases or needs.

CIRC Units

Students who are accepted to the CIRC are assigned to one of five units:

Unresolved Homicide Unit

Responsible for assisting in cases involving homicides, suspicious deaths, unattended deaths, and other crimes.

Unresolved Sex Crimes Unit

Responsible for assisting in cases involving sexual assault crimes, specifically criminal sexual conduct and other violent sexual offenses.

Missing Persons Investigation and Resource Unit

Responsible for assisting in missing person cases of all ages. All CIRC interns work on missing person events organized by the Center for Hope.

Crime Analysis Program

Inherent to the work in the CIRC, all students engage in crime and legal research, case linkage analysis, crime reconstruction, development of forensic victimology, and other methods of crime analysis.

Continuing Education and Professional Training

CIRC invests in training opportunities when needed, such as Unresolved Crime Conferences or statement analysis training.
